We are implementing a state-of-the-art yard management system at the German production site of an international packaging company headquartered in Switzerland. The aim is to systematically digitise the logistics processes on the factory premises and make them more efficient in the long term.
As part of the implementation, we are installing several Logistic Terminals LT Cube. The devices are specifically designed for use in demanding industrial environments and are characterised by their robust construction. An integrated touchscreen with a resistive surface and automatic brightness control ensure reliable and easy-to-read operation in all lighting and environmental conditions.
The new terminals enable significantly more efficient handling of processes in goods-in and goods-out. Drivers and staff can record and process relevant documents directly at the terminal. This reduces manual intermediate steps, speeds up processes and significantly minimises potential sources of error.
The hardware is complemented by the OAS software solution logis, which monitors all vehicle traffic on the factory premises in real time and controls it centrally. This provides the customer with end-to-end transparency over all transport and logistics movements throughout their time in the yard.
When used in combination, the terminal and software solutions deliver a noticeable improvement in efficiency, process reliability and traceability.
