Special features of the SMC station

Easy supply of raw materials

Normally, filling of the raw material containers takes place on +0 m. In terms of internal logistics, this provides for easy feeding of raw materials.

You may freely select the place of installation of the dosing station because the raw materials are transported to the receiving container using a suction conveyor. You may adapt the running of pipes to the conditions prevailing in the plant. Thanks to the modular system you may extend your plant with further dosing stations at any time.

High-precision dosing

The receiving container is provided with scales and implements two functions:

• check weighing whether all dosed material has been discharged
• a dosing function for nominal values from 30 to 300 kg

Depending on the recipe requirement, a raw material can either be dosed in a highly-precise manner into the dosing station or – in case of nominal values between 30 kg and 300 kg – directly into the receiving container.

The dosing devices used ensure that medium components are dosed with satisfactory delivery rate and small components with sufficient accuracy with a short batch cycle time.

Control of the SMC station via dosing electronics by OAS and pronto

The high-resolution dosing electronics by OAS and the recipe system pronto control the station. pronto is scalable and offers optional visualisation and MES functions (material management, batch logs, connection to higher-level systems, etc.). Among other things it also allows for smart stepping of dosing processes during the big bag changing operation. When the next big bag is ready, dosing will continue automatically.  

The SMC station makes supplementary raw materials available in an existing plant and in constricted areas.
